In a few hours from now, a litte over three hours to be precise, Apple will launch the iPhone X along with the iPhone 8 and the iphone 8 Plus. The company will unveil the phones at an event in its newly-minted campus in Cupertino at a theater named after its iconic co-founder Steve Jobs. At the iPhone launch event, Apple is also expected to reveal a new Apple TV that supports 4K content, a new Apple Watch 3 that supports LTE connectivity and even an iPod Touch if a credit card website is to be believed.

As it is common before the launch of new Apple products, the Apple online store is already offline. It is supposed to come back online after the iPhone X event comes to a close around 12 midnight.

As India Today Tech wrote earlier, the star of today’s Apple show is likely to be the iPhone X. This is the phone with which Apple is going to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. The original iPhone was launched in 2007.

In terms of specifications and features nothing is final yet. But a lot of information has trickled from usual sources. Some of this iPhone X related information has appeared on websites like Bloomberg and Wall Street Journal. While some of it has been revealed by Apple analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities.

The information revealed so far paints an intriguing image of the upcoming iPhone X. Although the phone is going to be a special-edition iPhone, and without doubt the most high-tech iPhone ever launched, it is likely to come with many features that have already become common in the world of Android.

The iPhone X is going to come with AMOLED display measuring 5.8 inches, reveal the leaks that have surfaced on the web so far. The screen in the iPhone X is going to be edge-to-edge, although it may not reach the kind of bezel-less looks that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, which was launched just yesterday in China, has. Yet, it is possible that the iPhone X will have a display that has bezels thin enough to be comparable to a phone like the LG V30 or LG G6. The iPhone X screen may have a resolution of 2436 X 1125 pixels that will make it an iPhone with the sharpest display ever.

Along with new display technology — for an iPhone — Apple’s latest phone is also likely to come with a new design. The phone will have an all-glass design supported by a metal frame. This means both the rear cover and the screen (obviously) will have a layer of glass. The iPhone X is said to come with features like Face ID, a fancy Apple term for 3D face scanning and wireless charging.

The iPhone X is also expected to be powered by Apple’s A11 processor, with four cores inside it (although there is talk of six cores too) and the iOS 11, which has some special software features related to augmented reality. The iPhone X will have a dual-camera system with a 12-megapixel sensor.
